Hello from Krakow, Poland!
For the past few days, the Global Catholic Climate Movement team and several of our member organizations have been busy bringing the Laudato Si message to life in Poland.
As Pope Francis said in Laudato Si, “Young people demand change. They wonder how anyone can claim to be building a better future without thinking of the environmental crisis and the sufferings of the excluded”.
With our international team (from all continents except Antarctica!) we opened up our Laudato Si’ Eco-Village last Tuesday with a concert, exhibits, a Green Sacred Space, and workshops. On Wednesday, the Laudato Si Youth Animators training workshop brought together attendees from around the globe. The participants left inspired and with a concrete plan on how they were going to facilitate ecological conversion in their communities. Many pilgrims are ready to #LiveLaudatoSi, joining our social media campaign to bring the encyclical to life.
It’s been a time of hope for the future, a time for us to gather and discuss the climate; how we feel about the crisis we are in and what we can do about it.
As we prepare to pray with the Pope over the next few days, we invite you to join your prayers with all of us here in Krakow. We have a beautiful Climate Prayer Tree at our eco-village where pilgrims have been tying their prayers for the climate.
You can send your prayer through the form below and we will add it to our tree. You could pray about anything that concerns you the most about the climate crisis.
Join us in praying with and for young Catholics around the globe, for intergenerational justice, and for climate justice for all.Blessings,Christina on behalf of the Global Catholic Climate Movement (Ed. note: Christina is in the middle – 4th from the right or left, in the photo below)
