Climate strikes 29 November

29 November is the date of the next big global climate strike.
This is the next moment in the global movement that was started by Greta Thunberg. This mobilization has a target–the UN climate talks that begin just three days later, on 2 December. We’re coming together to show them that climate justice won’t wait.

29 November is also the 40th anniversary of St. Francis’ being declared the patron saint of ecology.
In Assisi, Catholics will lead a climate strike around the green hills that St. Francis walked. And around the world, we’ll walk with them in spirit.

In his message declaring St. Francis the patron saint of ecology, St. Pope John Paul II said that “the poor man of Assisi gives us striking witness that when we are at peace with God we are better able to devote ourselves to building up that peace with all creation which is inseparable from peace among all peoples.”
The work of St. Francis is not done. As climate-related fires rage in California and intentionally set fires destroy the Amazon, our world urgently needs more witnesses to peace. Register your strike here.
