From the Vatican to Katowice: The Climate Pilgrimage Begins!

With the support of people from around the world, The Climate Pilgrimage is getting underway!

On 3 October, a press conference will take place to present the pilgrimage and its mission. Among the speakers: Gianfranco Cattai, President of FOCSIV; Hon. Sergio Costa, Italian Minister of the Environment and Sea Protection; Tomas Insua, Executive Director of the Global Catholic Climate Movement; Don Francesco Pesce, Responsible of the Social Pastoral Office at the Vicariate of Rome; Yeb Sano, Leader of the Climate Pilgrimage;

On 4 October, the Feast of St. Francis, the pilgrims take the first steps on their journey, starting in the Vatican’s St. Peter’s Square. St. Francis is Catholics’ patron saint of those who promote ecology and an inspiring figure for many Christians.

A celebration at 10:30 AM will include a blessing from Don Francesco Pesce, Vicar of the Diocese of Rome, an artistic performance from Gruppo Jobel, and greetings from Yeb Saño, the leader of The Climate Pilgrimage.
